Here I have for sale 100+ carats (2" X 2" bag) of tumble polished potch opal from the Coober Pedy area of Australia. This is also known as "common" opal due to it's lack of color or "flash" necessary for it to be referred to as "precious". Personally, I believe this material has merits all it's own, for one, the price! For only $30 you get several pieces that could be used for anything from lapidary practice to metaphysical healing.
