Zen gardens are so relaxing! There is just something about the feeling of the rake moving through the sand and the patterns left behind that is very meditative. You can feel the falling away of concerns and worries as you revert to childhood and just play in the sand!

I made this beautiful playground in a vintage silver colored round decorative plate with a sparkly grey sand from a beach here in Washington state known as Kalaloch. I included a stone cairn of rocks from the same beach, as well as obsidian, Jade, agate, rose quartz and a recycled aluminum wire rake. The plate is an 8" across, silver toned, vintage serving tray with an etched pattern on the bottom (under the sand).
